Dr. Chris Mathiesen has lived in the Saratoga Springs community since early childhood. He attended local parochial schools and graduated from St. Peter’s Academy, then earned his BA from Boston College before enrolling in Fairleigh Dickinson University College of Dental Medicine.
After receiving his DMD, Dr. Mathiesen returned to Saratoga Springs to raise his family and to practice his profession. He established his practice for general dentistry in 1978 and continues to provide all phases of dentistry in a modern facility located at 154 West Avenue. Dr. Mathiesen is committed to quality care and has enhanced his credentials by maintaining a commitment to continuing education by completing over 2200 hours. He is a member of the ADA and the New York State Dental Association. He is a former president and board member of the Fourth District Dental Society, was a former district representative to the NYSDA Council on Dental Benefit Programs, and is presently the district chair of the Peer Review and Quality Assurance Committee. He earned his fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1999 and his MAGD in 2007. He is a fellow of the American College of Dentists and of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr. Mathiesen is committed to his community. He is a 2000 graduate of Leadership Saratoga, served on the Saratoga Springs Zoning Board of Appeals for seven years (2005-06 as chair) and served on the Saratoga Springs City Council as Commissioner of Public Safety from 2012 through 2017. Dr. Mathiesen and his wife, Fran, raised five children and now have five grandchildren.
